Featuring local artists practicing a variety of mediums, this open air market shows off the skills and creativity of local artists and makers. Shop for one-of-a-kind pieces for yourself or others while supporting local artists.


Live Music All Day
This year’s festival line up boasts an incredible range of local entertainment, from rap to the blues and everything in between. Prepare to be dazzled by dancers, drag artists, and other non-musical performers both on and off the stages.
Live Mural Painting
See art come to life before your eyes. Over a dozen local muralists and graffiti artists will come together for a live painting exhibition. Muralists will be scattered throughout the festival to allow for casual and focused viewing of these artists at work.

Skate Deck Show Show at Urban Arts Gallery
Urban Arts Gallery’s most popular show returns for the 15th year in a row! Come vote for your favorite decks and see the diversity and creativity of Salt Lake artists. Five prizes are available to artists: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, Utah Arts Alliance’s Executive Director’s choice, and Urban Arts Gallery Manager’s choice.
Lowriders Custom Car Exhibit
Always a crowd favorite, come take a look under and over the hood of these custom lowriders, hoppers and bikes.

What is Urban Arts Festival? Urban Arts Festival is a project of the Utah Arts Alliance, a nonprofit with a mission to foster the arts in ALL forms in order to create an aware, empowered, and connected community. What is Utah Arts Alliance? Utah Arts Alliance is a Utah nonprofit focused on our mission to foster the arts in all forms in order to create an aware, empowered, and connected community. Founded over 20 years ago, the Utah Arts Alliance proudly manages artist spaces and galleries, produces festivals, organizes events that create opportunities for established and emerging artists and runs KUAA 99.9FM, a multilingual, cultural public radio station.
How can I support Utah Arts Alliance and Urban Arts Festival? Urban Arts Festival is a pay what you can event. You are not required to pay to enjoy the festival but all donations are appreciated and help support the festival. We accept donations at the festival! You can also donate here.
Where can I park at Urban Arts Festival? The Gateway has two underground parking garages located on 100 S and 400 W. There is also limited street parking.
How do I get to Urban Arts Festival on public transportation? The Gateway is accessible from Planetarium Station on the Blue Line. You can also take a variety of bus routes including the 220, 209, 2, and 509.
Can I bring my dog to Urban Arts Festival? We are a dog friendly event as long as your dog is on a fixed leash, no flexi leashes allowed. Please be aware that this event will be loud, crowded, and hot so take care of your furry friends. If your dog is disruptive you may be asked to leave.
You are expected to clean up after your dog.
Can I bring food or water? No outside food or water is allowed at Urban Arts Festival. Bringing your own, empty, reusable water bottle is encouraged! There will be many water stations throughout the festival. The festival food court is located at the north end of The Gateway and multiple bars serving a variety of drinks are located throughout the festival. The Gateway also has a variety of restaurants that will be open during the festival.
If you need specific food or drink due to a medical condition, please inform our staff at the entrance.
What can I bring into the festival? You can bring a bag, umbrellas, canes, etc. You cannot bring weapons, outside food or drink, or illegal substances.
Can I leave the festival and come back? Yes! You are welcome to come and go as you’d like.
Accessibility
Wheelchair accessibility – The Gateway is mostly wheelchair accessible but does have gutters and cobblestone that can impact those using wheelchairs and other mobility aids. Most of the festival is accessible while you’re on Rio Grande St. and there are curb cuts throughout the festival to access booths and other festival elements on the sidewalk.
Accessible bathrooms – The Gateway has a couple public restrooms. The ones within the festival are on the north end near Urban Arts Festival’s north gate. There will also be accessible portable restrooms located on the west side of the 100 S and Rio Grande St. intersection.
