Friday & Saturday, November 9th & 10th: The ILLUMINATE SALT LAKE Festival is a free two-day community art event and a celebration of innovation and imagination for the community, art lovers, and families. The festival features installations by more than 30 artists, live music and performances, kids activities, a kids short film fest, interactive light artdemonstrations, virtual reality arts displays, food trucks, local brews & spirits and much more!

ILLUMINATE ends at 10 but the fun doesn’t have to stop. Continue the festivities at AFTER GLO, the official ILLUMINATE after party. Explore Dreamscapes more in depth and watch it come to life with music and live performances. Bars and VIP will enhance your evening. Not required, but you may want to lighten up your look. Dress up in your favorite light up, light reactive, futuristic, whimsical get up. Then get ready to get down, this party goes until 2am.

Urban Arts Gallery

Seeing the Sacred

Friday, November 16th: “The artist’s mission is to make the soul perceptible.” –Alex Grey Throughout November, the walls of Urban Arts Gallery will be adorned with art that is spiritual, psychedelic, and surreal.

This show features local Utah artists expressing their mystical side, using kaleidoscopic patterns, sacred geometry, vibrant colors, and dreamlike imagery. This show is an exploration of the human spirit that transcends boundaries and traditions.

Featured artists include Alex Gregory, Alexander Hofstetter, Alice Bain Toler, Birdie Hess, Brianna C. Rose, Brittany Roig, Brody Froelich, Chris Bodily, Emma Goldgar, Grace Ryser, Graham Rich, Hailey Bruno, Jessica Douglas, Krystal Meldrum, Mykael David Lazzeri, Naomi Owen, Renee Sarasvati, Scott Tuckfield, Todd Powelson, Tyler Bennett, and Violet Soleil. The exhibit will hang from November 6th to December 2nd, with a gallery stroll reception onNovember 16th from 6-10pm. Admission is free and open to the public.

Chali 2na 2018 Art Tour

November 3rd: Chali 2na, celebrated frontman of hip hop group Jurassic 5 and headliner of the 2018 Urban Arts Festival, is returning to Salt Lake City–this time as a visual artist. Chali is touring the states to promote his coffee table art book “Against the Current”. The event will feature a collection of Chali’s artwork, as well as a live DJ and the opportunity to meet Chali himself. Open November 3rd, 5 – 10pm. Admission is free!

November 9th: Connect is the free event where every artist can show their work! It’s easy! Bring up to two pieces of ready-to-hang work. Bring your own easels! Vote for your favorite 3 pieces. Top 5 selected artists showcase their work in the gallery until our next event. All top selected are entered to win a portion of $4,000 at the end of the year. (View event schedule below)
