Juneteenth is now a recognized US and Utah State holiday that commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans.<\/p><p>Salt Lake Juneteenth Celebration is a FREE community event \u2013 a celebration of resilience and joy! This family friendly, community celebration is open to the public. Salt Lake Juneteenth will be held in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City at the Gateway Mall.<\/p><p>This celebration will feature will kick off with the Beloved Community Juneteenth Celebration Walk, where attendees will walk from the Utah State Capitol Building to Salt Lake City &amp; County Building.
