Submissions are now open for our August 2022 photography show “Captivate.” An inherently unique art form due to it’s mechanical processes, photography, according to theorist Andre Bazin, “does not create eternity, as art does– it embalms time.” “Captivate” showcases photographic works that reflect an appreciative attitude toward the beauty around us while simultaneously challenging reality and subverting the everyday images that dominate our society. By preserving moments in time, these artists compel us to share their unique gaze and experience our world’s wonders and mysteries.
The deadline to submit is July 8th, 2022. We will notify you of our decision via email no later than July 15th, 2022. If selected, your art will be due to the gallery, finished and ready to hang, by July 31st, 2022.
This show will hang August 2nd through August 28th, with a gallery stroll reception on Friday August 19th from 6-9pm. Admission is free and open to the public.
