Urban Arts Fest Entertainment Schedule

The Utah Arts Alliance is proud to present our lineup of entertainment for the 7th Annual Urban Arts Festival which will take place this September 16 & 17 at the Gallivan Center in Salt Lake City.

Headlining our Festival Stage on Saturday, September 16 will be turntablist extraordinaire Mix Master Mike from the Beastie Boys. Named as “the world’s greatest DJ” by USA Today, Mix Master Mike’s status as a premier, award-winning DJ and producer has allowed him to maintain his rank as an influential musician, and become a household name. His many accomplishments include a 3 time consecutive win of the DMC World title, a win of the 1992 New Music Seminar DJ Battle (where he became the first West Coast DJ to win the title of World Champion), and being inducted into the Rock ’n Roll Hall of Fame in 2012 with the Beastie Boys. His skillful, hard-hitting scratch work has rightfully earned him the status of a pioneer in the hip-hop and DJ communities.

Headlining our Festival Stage on Sunday September 17 will be Afrolicious, a dance-fusion collective based in San Francisco, California. Started as a weekly dance party featuring DJ’s and percussionists, MC’s and horn players, Afrolicious has established itself as both one of the most legendary weekly parties in San Francisco, and of the top live/electronic bands on the scene.
