ILLUMINATE is seeking individuals and groups from the art and technology sectors to create and/or display installations using light as their medium. Think BIG! (Projection Art, 3D Sculptures, Glowing Performance Art, Augmented Reality). ILLUMINATE’s headquarters are at the Gateway, the surrounding architecture is the canvas.

About:

ILLUMINATE is a Light Art & Creative Technology Festival in Downtown SLC, the first of its kind in the region. This free event, produced by the Utah Arts Alliance, invites the community to explore our city in a whole new light, by highlighting our history, culture and community using light, art and technology.

Festival Dates and Hours:

November 8 and 9
5 to 10 pm

Location:

Activities and installations will be centered at the Gateway and on Regent Street, spilling out into the rest of the Downtown SLC. Projections onto outdoor walls will be permitted. There are indoor and outdoor spaces for projects.

Timeline:

Applicant Inquiry and Site Review: August 1 (Thursday at 6 pm)
Submissions due:
 August 30th at Midnight
Artist Selection: September 15
Installation: November 7th & 8th
Removal: November 9th & 10th

Existing and new installations and projects will be considered. Funds are available to support selected projects.
